Leuven is a university town in Belgium, located in the heart of Europe. It is located about 20 kilometers east of Brussels, the capital of Belgium.

Brussels International Airport

Less than half an hour from Leuven, Brussels International Airport offers non-stop service to all major destinations. The official designation of the airport is BRU. There are several options for Public Transport.

Rail: Direct trains are available to Leuven from the lower level of the Arrivals hall (€ 3.10 one-way ticket). Further information is available from Belgian Railways.

Taxi: Metered taxis are available outside the Arrivals hall (tickets can be booked in advance at taxi2airport for 21-35 € one way, 41-75 € round trip).

Alternatively, the following Car Hire companies: Avis, Europcar, Hertz, National Car Rental and Sixt have desks in the Arrivals hall.

How to get to the workshop venue

Bus: De Lijn buses serve routes throughout Flanders, including Leuven. From the Leuven Railway Station, take the bus in the direction of ‘Heverlee’. You can use:
*line # 337 Leuven Wavre (get off at stop ‘Heverlee sportcentrum’)
*line # 2 Kessel-lo – Heverlee (get off at stop ‘Naamsepoort’)
*line # 1 Leuven – Heverlee (get off at stop ‘Naamsepoort’)

The bus stop ‘Heverlee sportcentrum’ is right in front of the domain of the FaBeR campus and workshop venue. If you take a bus that uses the stop ‘Naamsepoort’, just follow the boulevard in the direction of the Tervuursepoort (in the driving direction) for about 100 m. The FaBeR campus is now at your left side and can be reached on foot using the pedestrian tunnel.

At weekdays there’s a “ring bus” (# 600) that will bring you to the ‘Tervuursepoort’, between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m., every 10 minutes.
